For the Night

At Kenguru Gold we put the greatest emphasis on nights. We developed our baby clothes and sleeping bags together with research physicians and sleep consultants, so that they rank among the best not only on design but on safety and comfort too.

The most important "rule" for the night is to use a sleeping bag. Accidents with blankets are sadly very common, and everyone should be aware of the guidance that up to the age of one, infants must only be put to sleep in a sleeping bag at night; covering them with a blanket is forbidden and life-threatening. It also matters that there is nothing else in the cot that could cause suffocation: no muslin, no soft toy, no pillow. Only a well-fitted sheet on the mattress.

At night, overheating can be just as dangerous as getting cold, so it is important not to overdress your child. Always choose a sleeping bag of the right thickness for the room temperature and dress them underneath accordingly. We kept every safety feature in mind when we created our baby sleeping bags. Shoulder poppers make the right neck opening possible, so the baby cannot slip down into the bag. By adjusting to the right size you can get up to four months of use out of the first size. Our sleeping bags also have an underarm narrowing popper, so that in the early months a little hand cannot slip inside the bag either. All our sleeping bags are sleeveless, which lets moisture escape freely. They also have a downward-closing zip, so that if your child sleeps on their tummy the zip head does not press into their chest.

Buying a sleeping bag is an investment, as it is not a cheap product. But it is one of the most important investments you can make in your child's safe nights.
